Blue Ridge Chapter
8/7/2010 10:01:06 AM Blue Ridge Chapter News On Friday, May 21at 12:15 PM, all members were invited to an organizational meeting at La Cocina del Sol in Charlottesville. We were interested in getting to know members better as we made plans for next year.
It is our goal to provide more interaction between members. The educational program committee is soliciting ideas for topics from the membership. Please let us know if you are interested in presenting. If a two hour presentation seems daunting, how about presenting for one hour? We’re also planning panel discussions and a Saturday Breakfast. Your feedback is needed.
The Blue Ridge Chapter is winding up its educational programs for the year. On March 19th, Bob Taibbi, LCSW presented an informative and highly entertaining two-hour ethics seminar. Our meeting location at the Unity Church in Charlottesville is convenient. Each workshop has seen increased attendance and new members. Our overall membership has grown to 26 members and we are especially excited about those who have joined the steering group. Amy Sue Zakaib, Cathy Jesperson Sacks, Rick Goodling and Bic Kolcum have shared ideas and enthusiasm. Vincenza Bonarelli has enthusiastically taken the helm as Membership Chair. Rick Goodling has agreed to serve as representative to the State Board. Thanks to these members for getting involved and ensuring the success of our chapter. We are proud that two of our members, Judith Minter and Chris Walker, were featured presenters at the statewide VSCSW Conference in Richmond on April 24th. As we continue to organize and offer quality, affordable, and convenient continuing education opportunities to the Blue Ridge area, more and more LCSWs are recognizing the value of membership in VSCSW.
